The recently concluded Jakarta leg of Sun Developer Days 2006/2007 saw more than 800 participants from the industry and academia gathering to seize the next wave of technological innovation. One unique aspect of
this event was that unlike other Developer Days, the Jakarta leg was based on a theme of a Gaul Village, which generated a lot of excitement and curiosity. To add flavor and make it more authentic, all the speakers came dressed in Gallic gear.
Various Sun customers like the Jakarta International School gave their first hand account of experience with Sun Technologies, in this case being their experience with Solaris. The event also saw participation by industry partners such as SAP. The event was truly interactive, with the audience keenly following the various sessions and interacting with the speakers and evangelists to know more about these technologies. There was also representation from the Java Community with the IJUG (Indonesia Java User Group) leader and Java Champion Frans Thamura speaking at the event.
