DEVELOPER DAYS COLOMBO

This year's Sun Developers Summit 2006 in Colombo saw more than 575 enthusiastic participants come together along with visionaries and leading experts to seize the next wave of technological innovation. More than 95% of the participants were from the developer community with the remaining coming from the student community to learn about the most current software concepts available and discuss strategies for creating applications using Sun technologies.

The event was truly interactive, with the audience keenly following the various sessions and interacting with the speakers and evangelists to know more about the technologies.

Technology evangelists Chuk Munn Lee, Peter Karlsson, Reggie Hutchison addressed the gathering and lent their perspectives on the chosen topics for the day. True to its objective of bringing together members of the developer community and updating them on the latest developments on the technology front, the event had a handpicked agenda, and included topics that are increasingly gaining importance in the technology world, including Ajax, Project Tango and Java SE 6.

The sessions provided insights into an array of hot technology topics such as such as Strategy, Design and Best Practices of SOA, JBI , interoperability using Project Tango and also covered practical areas such as the use and application of OpenSource in Project Management and Persistence Techniques for Java SE and EE Applications Using EJBTM 3.0. In addition, there was also a code camp session on Ajax that helped the participants learn how to architect and build rich web applications using Ajax and J2EE
