Java in Cebu, which took place on August 22, 2006 had an excellent turnout of more than 1300 attendees with equal participation from the corporate as well as the student community. The event received a very positive feedback from the deans and faculties of various schools not only in Cebu but also from nearby provinces like Davao, Zamboanga, Iloilo, Cagayan De Oro and Dumaguete.
The event, which was co sponsored by Comclark, WSI/Infonet, Global Sapphire, Exist Software, SAP and IBM, had technology evangelists Chuk Munn Lee, Peter Karlsson, Reggie Hutchison and Sang Sin addressing the gathering and lending their perspectives on the chosen topics for the day.
The sessions covered a wide range of technologies including SOA, JBI, BPEL, interoperability using Project Tango and also covered practical areas such as design of Cool Java Applications for Consumers & Enterprise Users. In addition, there was also a code camp session on Ajax and Java Server Faces.
