Geert Bevin, Founder and CEO, Uwyn (Use What You Need)
In July, 2006, Geert Bevin was recognized with the title of Java Champion. Bevin is the founder and CEO of Uwyn (Use What You Need), a web development and software firm operating out of Belgium. Uwyn focuses on developing easy to use tools and technologies targeting small to medium web sites. The company's offerings include RIFE, a full-stack web application framework providing the tools and APIs necessary to easily implement most common web features.

Sun Community Champions at the 2006 JavaOne Conference

Fabiane Bizinella Nardon, CTO, VIDATIS
Fabiane is currently the CTO of VIDATIS, a Brazilian Healthcare Information Systems provider, where she is the responsible for all technological aspects of large distributed projects. She has worked for United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO in the National Healthcare Information System Project of the Brazilian Ministry of Health, where she was responsible for designing information systems based on the J2EE Platform. With extensive experience in standardization processes in Brazil and abroad. Fabiane presented at the 2005 JavaPolis developers conference (Brazilian Healthcare Podcast); and, she was the 2005 Duke Award winner for her work in the Brazilian Healthcare java projects. Fabiane is also the community leader for the java.net Tools Community.

Xu Bin, Assistant Professor, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China
A member of the Java Champions community since October, 2005, Xu Bin is an assistant professor at the university, having graduated from there with a degree in Computer Science. He began teaching Java Programming back in 1999, and since then over 2000 students have benefited from his courses. He is an expert adviser to the Ministry of Education in China on the Java content of the National Computer Ranking Examination, and the author of three Chinese language books on Java programming. He's the faculty adviser to the Java Users Group (JUG) at Tsinghua University. But perhaps most of all, Xu Bin is helping to bridge the digital divide one student at a time. He is a tireless advocate of Java technology in China, leveraging NetBeans within the Chinese education system to teach students cutting edge software engineering, and train his colleagues to do the same.

Ben Rockwood, Founder, Cuddletech Labs
Ben Rockwood is the founder and "Chief Enlightenment Officer" for Cuddletech Labs and pilot member of the OpenSolaris.org community. Cuddletech is an online forum for all measures of Solaris information for the "Super User". Cuddletech.com is a vault of development and system administration treasures. Ben's blog makes it all sound so fun...from installing SNORT, proclaiming that BF2 is FUN!, to his vivid accounts of taking Galaxy servers for a test drive or setting up "new" Sun Rays, Cuddletech is a smart place for Solaris developers and users alike to drop in and check out what Ben and his friends are up to.
