Solaris™ Operating Environment
Solaris Ready Program
|
Developed as a means for third-party vendors to formally announce that their enhancement
product has been certified to operate in the Sun SPARC Solaris™ and/or Sun Solaris Intel environments.
In fact, a Solaris Ready logo product must undergo testing
in an independent laboratory and/or in Sun's in-house certification labs,
and meet additional criteria, to become certified Solaris Ready.

Solaris ABI Testing Tool
Download the latest Solaris application binany interface (ABI) tool, "appcert", to test the
binary compatibility of your products on new releases of Solaris operating environment. This site also
provides the ABI definitions (symbol databases), related white papers,
slides, and other information to help you examine if your applications and the system
releases are ABI-conformant binary components. All of Sun's ABI
tools are FREE!
Solaris Hardware Partners (SHWP) Program

The Solaris Hardware Partners Program (formerly the SPARC Hardware Partners
Program) enables system and hardware manufacturers for SPARC and Intel
architectures to synchronize the release of their products with new or updated
versions of the Solaris Operating Environment. Through conformance and
verification testing, SHWP members will be able to deliver to their customers a
verified conformance and compatible system that will meet Solaris Operating
Environment standards.
SHWP offers multiple publishing programs via the Solaris Platform Publishing
Service.These programs assist the System and Hardware Manufacturer in porting,
publishing, and developing their hardware dependent binaries for distribution
of shrink-wrapped product to their customer channels. These programs include:
- The Solaris Compatible Logo
- Sun Cluster Qualification
- Solaris Platform Porting Service
- Solaris Platform Verification Service
- OEM Value Added CD
- Installation Services
All SHWP Services require a participation fee. Once a product has completed
conformance and verification testing, it is eligible to receive logos for the
Solaris Compatible and/or the Sun Cluster Qualification.
The Sun Cluster Qualification Program is for authorized OEM & Sun System
Partners only. It is a channel enabling program that provides an End-To-End
Development, Test, Integration solution for Sun Cluster Partners. The Program
Elements are:
- Development Team Training
- Development Support
- Software Development Kit ( Sun Cluster)
- Cluster Qualification Testing ( Solaris Conformance & Cluster Verification)
- Support Team Training ( Solaris OS, Disk Management, Cluster Basic and Troubleshooting, Advanced Cluster )
- A Single Sun Cluster Program Base Price
- Deployment/Sustaining Support
