Accessibility Features of the IDE |
The IDE provides many accessibility features that provide alternate ways of working with the product.
The IDE provides keyboard shortcuts for most actions. To see the available keyboard shortcuts, and edit them if you want, choose Tools > Keyboard Shortcuts and click the Shortcuts radio button. See the Keyboard Shortcuts Dialog Box topic to learn more about editing keyboard shortcuts. For information on the keystrokes needed to navigate through the help viewer, see JavaHelp Keyboard Shortcuts.

The IDE provides mnemonics throughout the application. A mnemonic is an underlined letter that shows you which key to press in conjunction with the Alt key to activate a command or navigate to a component. You might have to press the Alt key to see the underlined letters in menus.
You can set individual font and color properties for several of the IDE's editors. From the IDE main toolbar, open the Options window. Click the Advanced radio button, and then choose Editing > Editor Settings. You can change the font type, color, and size for each editor by selecting the ellipsis button for the Fonts and Colors options. For information, see Editor Fonts and Colors Dialog Box.
You can customize the menus and toolbars in the IDE by adding and removing commands. For more information on these features, see Options: Menu Bar and Customizing the Display of Commands in Toolbars. To change the size of the toolbar icons, right-click the main toolbar and uncheck the Small Toolbar Icons selection.
