At startup, the IDE uses the default web browser for your platform, such as
Internet Explorer, to view and test your web applications. If desired, you can use different web browsers, such as Netscape
or Mozilla. You can also specify command-line
settings for each type of web browser and add different browsers.
To change the web browser:
- From the main menu, choose Tools > Options.
- In the Options window, select the Basic view.
- Under the General Settings node, click System Settings.
- In the Properties node on the right side of the window, select the web browser
to use from the Web Browser dropdown.
If your web browser is not in the list, see "To add a new web browser" below.
To specify the command-line setting for an existing web browser:
- From the main menu, choose Tools > Options.
- In the Options window, select the Basic view.
- Under the General Settings node, expand Web Browsers.
- Select the web browser for which you want to specify the command-line setting.
- In the Properties node on the right side of the window, click the ellipsis button (...) next to Browser
Executable.
- In the Browser Executable dialog box, enter the desired command-line settings and click OK.
To add a new web browser:
- From the main menu, choose Tools > Options.
- In the Options window, select the Basic view.
- Under the General Settings node, expand Web Browsers.
- Right-click Web Browsers and choose New > External Browser.
- In the New Wizard, type the web browser name, such as Mozilla, and click Finish.
- In the Web Browsers node, select the new web browser.
- In the Properties node on the right side of the window, click the ellipsis button (...) next to Browser Executable.
- In the Browser Executable dialog box, enter the executable for the new web browser and click OK.
