Setting the Proxy Server

If you use a proxy server, for example, because your system is behind a firewall, configure the IDE with the correct proxy settings to access the Internet.

To set proxy information:

  1. From the main menu, choose Tools > Options.
     
  2. In the Options window, select the Basic view.
     
  3. Under the General Settings node, click System Settings.
     
  4. In the Properties node on the right side of the window, set the following properties:
    1. To use the proxy settings on your system, choose Use System Proxy Settings from the Type of proxy configuration drop-down list.
       
    2. To use an HTTP proxy, follow these steps:
       
      • Choose Use HTTP Proxy from the Type of proxy configuration drop-down list.
         
      • In Proxy Host, enter the host name or numeric IP address of the proxy server to use to connect to HTTP and FTP sites.
         
      • In Proxy Port, enter the port number of the proxy server.
         

     
  5. Click Close.
