In addition to updating the IDE online, you can also update modules in the
IDE without connecting to an Update Center server. You can download the
module's .nbm file from the Update Center and manually install it on
other machines.
To download a module's .nbm file:
- From the main menu, choose Tools > Update Center
to open the Update Center wizard.
- If you are behind a firewall and have not set your proxy
server, click Proxy Configuration.
- Select an Update Center and click Next.
- Select the module you want to download and click Next.
- Outside the IDE, go to your download directory and copy
the module's .nbm file to another directory. Leave
a copy of the file in the download directory.
- Return to the Update Center wizard. If you want to install
the module in your IDE, click Finish. If you do not want to
install the module, click Cancel.
To install a module offline:
- Manually download the .nbm file of the module that you want to update.
- In the main menu, choose Tools > Update Center.
- On the first page of the wizard, select the Install Manually Downloaded
Modules button and click Next.
- On the Select Modules to Install page, click Add.
- In the file chooser, navigate to the module's .nbm file. Select
the file and click OK.
- Repeat the previous step for every module that you want to add. Then click
Next.
The modules should appear in the Include in Install panel.
- Click through the rest of the wizard to install the module.
- Note: If the module you have selected in the file chooser does
not appear in the Available Updates and New Modules panel,
you probably already have the same version or a new version
of that module installed.
