Creating a Library Definition

See Also

When you create a library reference in a project, you refer to or create a library definition that contains the list of JAR files you want to use in your application. You can determine which librariess a project uses during design time and which libraries the project uses during deployment. Determining the JAR files used at deployment makes it easier to deploy a project to a different application server at runtime.

To create a library definition:

  1. From the main menu, choose Tools > Library Manager.

  2. In the Library Manager dialog box, click New Library.

  3. In the New Library dialog box, enter the library name.

  4. Choose the library type and click OK.

  5. Click Add JAR File/Folder to browse for and add JAR files to the library reference.

  6. Click OK.

The library reference appears under the project-name > Libraries node in the Projects window.
