Removing a Library Reference

See Also

You can remove a library reference from a project when the library resources are no longer needed by that project. Removing a reference does not delete the library definition. As long as the library definition exists, you can add the reference back into the project at any time without having to re-create the definition.

If you are sure that a library definition has no further use, you can delete the library definition itself. Once a library definition is deleted, manually re-create the library definition if the library resource is needed again.

To remove a library reference:

  1. In the Projects window, open the project-name > Libraries node.

  2. Right-click the library reference and choose Remove Library Reference.

The library reference is deleted from the project. You can add the library reference back to the project.

To delete a library definition:

  1. From the main menu, choose Tools > Library Manager.

  2. In the Libraries list box of the Library Manager, right-click the library definition to delete and choose Remove.

The library definition is deleted from the IDE. If you are using the JAR files referenced in the library definition in any project, errors appear during compile time.
