Solaris 8 and Solaris 9 Patches for Asian and Middle Eastern Languages

This document lists the Solaris(TM) 8 and Solaris 9 patches that are currently available for Asian and Middle Eastern languages on the SunSolve(SM) web site and contains links to the downloadable patch files there. This information is intended to help global developers to locate and download available patches for the last two Solaris releases. The patches included in this document pertain to the SunOS(TM), CDE, OpenWindows, X11, and other parts of the Solaris distribution.

There are two tables provided for each Solaris release: SPARC and x86. The patches are listed by platform and language. If a patch is available for both SPARC and x86 platforms, the Patch ID for the other platform is provided. The languages included are Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Indic, Arabic, and Hebrew. Some patches are not language-specific or they apply to all languages. These patches are listed at the top of each table. If a patch applies to more than one language but not all, it is listed under each applicable language. If you are looking for all patches for a particular language, be sure to check the top of the table in addition to the specific language section.

      About the SunSolve Site

      Patches on the SunSolve site are identified with a unique Patch ID that consists of a six-digit base Patch ID and two-digit revision number, such as 108528-14. 

      The base Patch ID of an x86 patch is typically one number greater than the corresponding SPARC patch. For example, if a SPARC base Patch ID is 100000, the x86 equivalent would likely be 100001.

      Solaris patches are cumulative. Later revisions of a patch contain all of the functionality delivered in previous revisions. For example, the patch identified by 100000-14 contains all the functionality of 100000-13, plus the new bug fixes or features that have been added in revision -14, as described in the patch README file.

      For best results when searching for a patch by Patch ID, use only the base Patch ID number (leave off the two-digit revision number).
