Anil Mahadev, Dream Tekis Software Pvt., Ltd.
"Thanks to Java Studio Enterpise, I've been able to do away with the proprietary
UML tool, that I have been addicted to for so many years and I fell in love with
Sun Java Studio Enterprise's powerful UML capabilities. I was the first person
in the organization to explore JSE 8 and then show our developers its
capabilities. They were amazed at what it could do and now I'm a hero.
Brilliant CODE Generation capabilities, Collaboration(this feature Rocks),
choice of building simple JAVA applications to powerful Enterprise Applications
out of the box and the best part among all were the outstanding UML 2.0
Specification Modeling capabilities.
As a Technical Communicator, it is crucial for my job to develop the best UML
Diagrams out there for our product and by delivering those diagrams on Time and
on Budget to our Software Developers. It has also helped me learn to be a
better Developer with regard to Technical Communication, by understanding how
objects and classes work.
Thanks Java Studio Enterprise for providing us the best JAVA IDE out there and
for making my job a whole lot easier and FUN."
Partha Goswami, Software Consultant, India
"I found Java Studio Enterprise unbelievably great! In the past, I
was coding Java programs in the "vi " editor, which was very
boring. Now the features available in the Java Studio Enterprise add a
completely new dimension to my development efforts. I develop
application solutions leveraging many web-tier technologies, such as
HTML ,JSP, and so on, and this product helps me to develop very easily and
quickly. My development productivity has also been significantly
improved with the use of the integrated UML features."
Alexander Grzesik, Manager Software Development, GMD Gesellschaft
f..r Medizinische Datenverarbeitung mbH, Germany
"NetBeans Enterprise Pack 5.5 includes everything you need for developing good software.
Beginning with an excellent UML design tool for designing the software, an
advanced
Java IDE with many good features, to a powerful profiling suite for testing and
profiling your product and an integrated XML editor. With Netbeans Enterprise Pack 5.5, you no
longer need to use many different tools in your development cycle, which speeds
up the whole process. And surprisingly, the included features of NetBeans beat
most specialized tools in functionality and usability. There is no more need for
finding the "Best of Breed" tools, because NetBeans is the "Breed of the Best."
Suzanne Correa, Developer student, DLSU-Manila, The
Philippines
On April 25, 2006, at the exciting and very busy Java in Manila event, this
Java developer Suzanne Correa had the good fortune to win a Sun Microsystems

"Java Studio Enterprise is very flexible and conveniently allows us to develop
our own classes, functions, and Enterprise JavaBeans. With this great,
cross-platform development tool, we were able to develop on our Windows
Operating System and build applications that use our Oracle database. Using the
integrated UML features was a very exciting experience for us: it enabled us to
plan all the required features, and at the same time use the Javadoc tool to
provide the technical documents for the project."
Rahul Gupta, Software Engineer, Target Corporation
"I found Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8 easy to use, which makes the life of the

"Java Studio Enterprise helped our team complete our project on time, under a VERY tight deadline. Its tight integration with Sun Java Enterprise System was extremely helpful for migrating existing code and developing JSR 168 compliant portlets. Its integrated profiler identified potential bottlenecks in the code, while the UML modeling tools allowed us to both better understand existing code and design new code. This is a solid development tool."
Mark Martin, Solution Architect, AgileTek LLC
"Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8 allows any team to completely manage their code
throughout the entire software product lifecycle at a price that management
likes (free). Round-trip engineering fans can rejoice with the built-in UML
tool. In-tool collaboration is incredibly easy, meaning developers can actually
communicate as they develop without leaving the IDEjust-in-time and pervasive
knowledge share is so important to our agile practice. Truly a professional's
tool, the Java Studio Enterprise environment supports several practices an agile
team should follow, including native Ant usage and built-in JUnit test support.
The IDE takes care of mundane tasks, makes sure the team writes software in
meaningful ways, and stays out of the way."
Dr. B.V. Kumar, author and principal researcher & technologist in E-Commerce Research Labs at Infosys Technologies
"The powerful yet intuitive life cycle development capabilities in Java Studio Enterprise, from UML modeling to the rich and user-friendly J2EE application development capabilities, are instrumental in enabling me and the team to rapidly prototype a variety of applications, allowing us to focus on the solution domain rather than the technology layers."
Maxim Korotkov, Technical Leader at http://www.evelopers.com
"Java Studio Enterprise 8 is one of the best enterprise development tools available with a focus on model-driven development, collaboration, and easy deployment. Developers in our company are not limited in their selection of development environments they can use, so the selection of Java Studio Enterprise 8 for several projects shows our commitment to the product and highlights its really valuable features that can be appreciated by professional Java developers in Russia. Features worthy of special mention are: the integrated [Sun Java System] Application Server, because it decreases turnover time when you start development or when you are investigating some new feature; and the UML editor with round-trip engineering, which is yet another major capability that makes Java Studio Enterprise a complete developer solution."

John Reynolds, Technical Architect based in Austin, Texas
(See John's blog " Service Oriented Mashups")
"I think that the NetBeans Enterprise Pack 5.5 Preview offering is a watershed event. By bundling the visual Orchestration Designer and BPEL engine with the Java EE app server, Sun Microsystems has created the ideal environment for learning about (and mastering) the major elements of an SOA solution. With the ease of creating web services via annotations, and the embarrassingly easy-to-use BPEL design and deployment tools, novices can quickly get their hands dirty and begin to truly understand the SOA paradigm."
Nirav Shah, Intelliswift Software, Inc
"I found the NetBeans Enterprise Pack 5.5 Preview easy to use, which makes its very popular among the Developers. I have always been on the upsides of using a UML based modelling either ways (Top Down or Bottom up) and this addition to the JSE stack makes it more user friendly and much powerful than any other IDE. The Service
Orchestration Designer is very intuitive by itself."
Belinda Garcia, Senior Member of the Technical Staff, Sandia Corporation

"I was able to leverage my Java project from NetBeans in Java Studio Enterprise 8 with no modifications and with rapid speed. Using the Reverse Engineering and modeling capabilities of the Studio, I was able to very quickly generate UML models from my complex Java code. The impressive UML features in the Studio allows me to both architect and code my projects all now at no cost."
Ken Mays, Senior Analyst & Architect, EarthLink, Inc.
"Java Studio Enterprise 8 is one of the few development tools available on multiple platforms which comes with UML 2.0, J2SE 5.0 support, and an advanced debugger which cuts development time in half. The beauty of Java Studio Enterprise lies within its modular approach to various technologies like NetBeans 4.1, and the fact that development teams can collaborate and share code through the version control feature. Out of the many enterprise-level software development tools I've evaluated in the last 10 years, Java Studio Enterprise 8 gets an "A+" in my book."
John Case, J2EE Architecture & Software Development, Australia Real Estate
Software Pty. Limited
"The features in Java Studio Enterprise 8 that I found most impressive during
the Early Access Program were the following:
Java Studio Enterprise 8 integrates UML and Java with support for Design you with templates and code generation features such as those for when you want to call an enterprise bean. Just right-click in the Source Editor, choose Call Enterprise Bean and select the bean. Java Studio Enterprise 8 creates a lookup method in the caller class, adds the enterprise bean project to the caller project's classpath, and adds a reference to the bean being called to the appropriate deployment descriptor of the caller project. The Files window shows a directory-based view of your projects. The Runtime window displays external services that are attached to Java Studio Enterprise 8 such as servers and databases as well as currently running processes and debugging sessions. Java Studio Enterprise 8's project system is built on top of Apache Ant and automatically updates your project's Ant script. You can customize the standard script or write your own. Build or Run your project inside or outside Java Studio Enterprise 8."
Jean-noel Colin, Architect & Consultant, OXYS, Belgium
"Java Enterprise Studio 8 is an extremely professional IDE, offering all necessary features one would expect plus a lot of others that make a developer's life much easier. The user interface is very neat, modules are intuitive to use, the platform is very open. Existing projects could be smoothly imported. Definitely an excellent design and development tool."
Dave Freels, Digital Reasoning Systems
"Java Studio Enterprise 8 allows me to be more productive than any other IDE. Using the collaboration module, I am able to perform code reviews and collaborative development whether I am in the office or elsewhere. The UML module is sweet! It allows me to model complex business systems and then seamlessly generate code, or synchronise with existing code saving me hours of time refactoring code and then updating the model."
Rodolfo Bertoloni, Director de Ingenieria de Softconsult, Argentina
"I think that the collaboration tool is the best one in the market today, making possible my team working across the entire world."
Serge Bornow, Jeveloper consultancy, Toronto, Canada
"I found Java Studio Enterprise 8 an extremely helpful and versatile tool for development enabling collaboration with your team together with easy deployment on multiple application servers. I am very happy to see one tool that combines both development and a UML designer."
David Pociu, Co-Founder and CTO, InsiTech, Inc.
"Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8 is the best enterprise IDE available today with its ease of use and comprehensive portfolio of innovative technologies. The new Unified Modeling Language visual implementation is awesome, and it's based on NetBeans, the most open development platform, so it makes it very simple to incorporate plug-in modules like InsiTech's XTT Smart Web Clients for Java RAD tool."
P J Laszkowicz, Managing Director, Opetec, UK
( http://www.opetec.com/)
"As a multiplatform architect, I find pure cross-platform development tools hard to come by. NetBeans and Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8 have enabled easy rapid development across multiple platforms without the need for migration plans. Even developing on micro platforms, such as mobile phones, has been made easy, thanks to the tools available from NetBeans. Our projects lifecycles can be easily managed from within these tools, from UML design and development, and finally in testing with the seamless integration with enterprise-level platforms. However, my favourite feature utilised from Sun is the collaboration tool, which allows developers working from different locations to communicate and work together effectively as if the developers were present in the same office. Most of my projects require our developers to telecommute, and thanks to Sun, this has been made possible -- and easy! As far as IDEs go, Sun Studio Enterprise 8 peaks at the top of my list, whatever platform I am working on at the time."
Rajesh Chenji, Software Engineer, Intelliswift Software India (Pvt.)
Ltd.
"Java Studio Enterprise (JSE) version 8.0 is the most powerful and easy-to-use IDE tool compared to another IDE currently available in the market. JSE is a feature-rich tool, including reverse engineering, creating UML diagrams, debugging tools, version control support, collaboration tools, and profilers. Professional Java technology developers can leverage these features to develop robust, scalable, and high-performing web service applications based on Java/J2EE technology. In addition, Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) projects can be designed and delivered using Java Studio Enterprise."
