Ordering and Qualification - Individual User

This site is specially designed for members of the academic community who wish to use Sun EduSoft Portfolio software for academic purposes with the convenience of using the software installed on their own personal computers.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for a no-cost license of EduSoft Portfolio software, you must meet all three eligibility requirements:

1. You must be a faculty member, staff member, student or individual affiliated with an Educational Institution; and
2. You must be employed, enrolled or affiliated with one of the following Educational Institutions:
   • Universities
   • 2-year and 4-year Colleges
   • K-12 (Primary and Secondary Schools)
   • Ministries of Education
   • Libraries
   • Teaching Hospitals
   • Non-profit Research Institutions
   • Museums
   and,
3. You must use the software for academic purposes (meaning classroom use, use for development of applications by you and testing, or in a research project).

How to access software

To access Sun EduSoft software, you need to register as an Academic User, meaning a person who meets the eligibility criteria above. You will then be linked to the Sun Download Center where you will be asked to agree to the Sun EduSoft Portfolio License. Once you accept the License, the download process will begin.

Members may also access the software through an Educational Institution which is participating in Sun's EduSoft Portfolio program. Software accessed through the Educational Institution is licensed for use on the Institution's computer system.

Right to Audit

Sun periodically audits the EduSoft Portfolio program registrations to insure that only eligible Academic Users have downloaded software. Sun reserves the right to terminate the license of users who are ineligible.

Sun's decision to provide this program to Academic Users is subject to Sun's sole discretion and can be terminated at any time by Sun..

IN NO EVENT WILL SUN BE LIABLE FOR DIRECT, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR PUNITIVEDAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR PARTICIPATION OF OR INABILITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SUN EDUSOFT PORTFOLIO PROGRAM.
