Grab Ahold Of The Code
Dig deeper into Java technologies with Hands-on Labs.
Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is playing a big part in building the next generation of Telecommunications services. Many popular services we enjoy today, such as Voice-over-IP (VoIP) phone services, instant messaging, and web conferencing, make use of SIP. Communications Application Servers, such as Project Sailfin, provide a robust J2EE based platform for SIP application development using new and upcoming JSR 289 specifications. These servers are bound to support millions of connected users, exchanging data at an unprecedented scale. To meet these requirements would be quite a challenge. In this lab, we would use Open Source software, Sailfin application server, NetBeans 6.0 with Plugin for SIP development, open source SIP load generation tool SIPp, network traffic analyzer WireShark and a SIP based sample application, to understand, analyze and optimize SIP server and applications. If your current or next development or deployment is in area of SIP based communication, and you are looking forward to improve performance, this lab is for you.
