The Real-Time Java Programming Challenge: How to Build Real-Time Solutions for Real-World Devices

In this lab, students will undertake a series of exercises that introduce some of these key application interfaces, and allow the development of a simple real-time system. The final exercise is a primer for the "JavaOne 2007 Real-Time Java Programming Challenge" in which contestants build their own real-time Java application by implementing a real-time control system for a slot-car that successfully navigates a sensor-based race track while meeting strict timing requirements.
