This session explores the current state of desktop Java technology, highlighting technologies such as deployment, Swing, the Java 2D API, and Abstract Window Toolkit (AWT). It begins with a quick overview of the state of desktop Java technology and then focuses on the meat of the presentation: what's new in Java SE 6 for desktop Java technology developers and where we're heading for Java SE 7, showing plenty of code and a demo or two to keep things rolling. The session also gives an overview of this year's Java Desktop track.
