Pump Up Your Technical Knowledge
Listen and watch as industry luminaries bring you the latest on Java technologies
The JavaServer Faces 2.0 platform specification is the first major revision since 1.0 in March 2004. This session explores the methodology used to identify the most important problems to solve for the second major release of the specification. Then it examines the concern about ease of development of JavaServer Faces applications and how the specification will address those concerns. Ajax is one technology that has grown as an enabler of rich Internet applications. With that came the emergence of numerous JavaServer Faces/Ajax technology-based frameworks for creating rich, dynamic JavaServer Faces applications. The specification standardizes the best features from some of these JavaServer Faces/Ajax technology-based frameworks as well as features common to all the frameworks. It reviews these features in addition to other features that distinguish the JavaServer Faces 2.0 specification. The presenters include the specification leads for JSR 314 (JavaServer Faces 2.0), Ed Burns and Roger Kitain. Attendees can expect to be informed about the new standardization efforts for JavaServer Faces 2.0. They will also have the opportunity to provide feedback on the direction of the specification. |
