SXDE 1/08 Web Application Stack

The OpenSolaris Project: Web Stack, is included in SXDE 1/08 for x86 and SPARC. It integrates Apache/MySQL/PHP (and many others) with a control panel to quickly and easily enable services.

It includes:

Apache 2.2.6 web server
MySQL 5.0.45 relational database engine
PHP 5.2.4 general-purpose scripting language for web development
PostgreSQL 8.2.5, the object-oriented relational database management system
Ruby 1.8.6 interpreted scripting language for object-oriented programming
Squid 2.6 proxy server
And more

The OpenSolaris Project:Web Stack delivers and maintains all web tier components of OpenSolaris. This project is closely associated with a the OpenSolaris SFWNV Project. In a sense, WebStack can be viewed as a sub-project of the SFWNV focused specifically on web tier components. The code delivered by WebStack project is in fact part of the SFW consolidation.
