I just checked the updated SAI Institutions list and found that the Colorado School of Mines is now part of the Sun Academic Initiative. This is great news for CSM students who want to try for a certification or use the Sun Learning Connection. I will put a howto together for the department bulletin board. Final exams for the spring semester at CSM ended on Thursday, so now is a good time to let students know about the program offerings.

Just made it back in Nashville. I got a chance to meet two of the students who will be participating in the TTP Java Boot Camp which kicks off tomorrow (in fact, there my roommates). I ' ll be up bright and early 7am to get started. Hope I can last a whole week of this!

During the last week of classes I gave a short presentation on Ruby and JRuby. There were a few of students attending and, once again, they we re showing me things about the tools I was introducing. My suggestion for future Campus Ambassadors is that each ambassador should pick a technology area they are most familiar with and use everyday: Netbeans, Solaris, ZFS, etc. Then, each campus ambassador should study this one topic throughout the year and present one detailed presentation to each school in the region. Today is celebrated the mother ' s day in Brazil. I know in Argentina this holiday is celebrate in different date, and I really don ' t know in another countries.

I ' m glad to announce that 18 students from Department of Computer Science, University of Delhi would be doing Summer Projects related to Glassfish . A list of involved students can be seen here . These students got this wonderful opportunity of working on open-source projects and it would definitely help them in increasing their technical expertise on Java EE and Glassfish and work under the able guida nce and support of mentors assigned to them. After 4 days just talking, thinking and showing the Indiana. The tour is over . Ok, it ' s not a problem, in same cases it ' s a good idea come back to studies and the day-by-day.
During this 4 days (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday), the group went in 4 different university, different cities just to show the new OpenSolaris.
