The Sun Studio 11 software includes a version of the NetBeans integrated development environment (IDE) optimized for use with the Fortran, C, and C++ compilers included in the product. Before you can use the software, you must complete the following items: _ Add the path to the product installation directory to your PATH. Add the path before any other path to Forte Developer, Sun ONE Studio, or Sun Studio software. The path you need to add is /SUNWspro/bin. Remember to use the source command to reinitialize your shell. _ Add the path to the product man pages to your MANPATH. The path you need to add is:/SUNWspro/man Remember to use the source command to reinitialize your shell. _ Ensure that one of the supported J2SE platforms is installed on your system or that you have access to it on the network. If you choose to install the supported J2SE platform that is supplied with the product on your system, you can use the custom J2SE installer that includes the J2SE platform and the required Solaris OS patches. You can find the J2SE platform installer at . To use the installer, do the following: 1. Go to the J2SE installer directory. 2. Log in as root user. 3. Start the installer by typing: # ./installer_j2se 4. Follow the instructions in the installer interface. 5. Log out as root user. 6. (Optional) You might have to reboot your system if you installed OS patches.
