Sun Studio Express - February 2007 Early Access ReleaseNOTE: This release has been deprecated in favor of the latest version of Sun Studio Express.
This page is being maintained for information purposes only for the current users of this Express build.
What Is This?
The Sun Studio team now offers interim development builds of future Sun Studio product releases. These builds offer developers the ability to preview and provide feedback on new features and enhancements under development.
What is a Sun Studio Express Build?Express builds are fully-functional, quality software that are focused on new features being introduced into the Sun Studio product. The intent is to collaborate with the developer community by gathering feedback through the Sun Studio forums and the bug/RFE (request for enhancement) database. It should be noted that these Express builds should not be used to generate production-level applications.

New in This Express Build
New features have been added to the compilers and tools that are currently
under development for both SPARC and x86 platforms. These new and improved
features are described in the
February 2007 Express README,
including fixes to bugs reported in previous builds.
We release a new Integrated Development Environment (IDE)
based on NetBeans 5.5.1 that adds many new features.
It supports C and C++ projects, and includes appropriate project templates for applications,
dynamic and static libraries, and projects with existing code.
The IDE includes a C and C++ class browser.
The powerful language-aware built-in editor supports code completion.
This build also includes C, C++, and Fortran compilers for the Linux platform,
and improvements to the new Sun Studio Thread Analyzer.
Where's the Documentation?
The man pages and readmes in the download bits have not been updated for
this express program build. The new features are documented in articles and
tutorials that are linked from the README file. That's why you need to
read February 2007 Express README page.
